01 Overview
The one-line summary: TypingBaba.cc does not collect, store, or transmit any text you type, any files you upload, or any personal information while you use our tools. Everything runs locally in your browser.
TypingBaba.cc ("we", "us", "our") is a free Hindi typing tools website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect when you visit our site, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using TypingBaba.cc, you agree to this policy.
This policy applies to all tools and pages on typingbaba.cc including our font converters, typing tests, OCR tools, PDF extractor, voice typing, and all other utilities.
02 What We Collect (and What We Don't)
What we do NOT collect
The following types of data are never collected, stored, or sent to our servers:
- Text you type or paste into any converter or tool
- Images or PDF files you upload for OCR or text extraction
- Audio captured during Hindi Voice Typing sessions
- Documents, spreadsheets, or any files you use with our tools
- Your conversion history or tool usage history
- Keyboard inputs, clipboard contents, or browsing history
Font conversion, typing tests, OCR, PDF parsing, and voice recognition all run entirely in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. No content ever leaves your device.
What we may collect
Like virtually every website on the internet, our web server may automatically log basic technical information when you visit:
- IP address — recorded by our hosting provider's server logs for security and abuse prevention
- Browser and device type — user-agent string sent by your browser (e.g. "Chrome 120 on Android")
- Pages visited and timestamps — which pages on TypingBaba you viewed and when
- Referring URL — the website you came from before visiting us
These server logs are standard web infrastructure. They are retained for a maximum of 30 days for security purposes and then deleted. We do not sell or share this data.
03 How Our Tools Work — Privacy by Design
Every tool on TypingBaba is deliberately architected to run client-side. Here's how each category works:
Font Converters (KrutiDev, Chanakya, Preeti, Unicode)
Character mapping algorithms run entirely in your browser's JavaScript engine. When you paste text, it is processed locally using lookup tables built into the page. Nothing is sent over the network.
Typing Tests
Test passages are loaded with the page. Your keystrokes, WPM score, accuracy, and error count are calculated locally and displayed in your browser. No results are stored or submitted anywhere.
Image to Text (OCR)
We use Tesseract.js — an open-source OCR engine compiled to WebAssembly. The language model files download to your browser cache on first use, and all image analysis runs locally. Your images are never uploaded to any server.
PDF to Text
We use PDF.js — Mozilla's open-source PDF rendering library. PDF files are parsed entirely in your browser's memory. The file content is never transmitted over the network.
Hindi Voice Typing
Voice recognition uses the Web Speech API built into your browser (available in Chrome and Edge). Audio processing is handled by your browser and Google's speech servers (for Chrome) — this is a browser-level feature outside our control. We do not receive or store any audio. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Chrome's speech recognition works.
Text Utilities (Formatter, Word Counter, Duplicate Remover)
All text processing runs as JavaScript in your browser tab. No text leaves your device at any point.
05 Third-party Services and CDNs
To load our tools quickly, we use several content delivery networks (CDNs) and open-source libraries. When you load a page on TypingBaba, your browser may make requests to these third-party servers to download resources:
CDNs and Libraries Used
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) — loads our web fonts. Google may log the request. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Tailwind CSS CDN (cdn.tailwindcss.com) — loads our CSS framework
- Tesseract.js (cdn.jsdelivr.net) — loads the OCR engine for image-to-text
- PDF.js (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) — loads the PDF parsing library. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
These CDN requests expose your IP address and browser user-agent to those third-party servers as part of normal HTTP operation. We have no control over what those third parties log. None of these services receive your text, files, or personal data from our tools — they only deliver static resource files.
No advertising networks. TypingBaba does not use Google AdSense, Meta Ads, or any other advertising platform. No advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or retargeting scripts are present on our site.
06 Contact Form Data
When you submit a message via our Contact page, you voluntarily provide:
- Your name
- Your email address
- The message content
This information is used solely to reply to your inquiry. We do not:
- Add you to any mailing list
- Share your contact details with third parties
- Use your email for marketing
- Store your message beyond what is necessary to respond
Contact form submissions are retained for up to 6 months and then deleted unless an ongoing support issue requires longer retention.
07 Children's Privacy
TypingBaba.cc is a general-purpose educational and productivity tool. Our typing tests and Hindi font tools are commonly used by students of all ages, including minors. Because we do not collect any personal data from users, there is no special risk to children's privacy.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information via our contact form, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
08 Your Rights
Since we do not collect personal data beyond server logs (IP, browser info, pages visited) and optional contact form submissions, there is limited data we hold about you. However, you have the following rights:
Right to Access
You may request to know what data we hold about you. Contact us via the Contact page.
Right to Deletion
You may request deletion of any contact form data we hold. We will fulfil such requests within 30 days.
Right to Opt Out
Since we do not send marketing emails or share data with advertisers, there is no opt-out required. If you have subscribed to any communications, you can unsubscribe via the link in any email.
GDPR and Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA)
For users in the European Economic Area, our processing is justified under legitimate interests (security logging) and contract performance (contact form replies). For users in India, we comply with the Information Technology Act 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 to the extent applicable.
09 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will add a notice on our homepage.
Your continued use of TypingBaba.cc after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
Because we collect so little data by design, privacy policy changes are typically minor — for example, adding a new CDN we use or clarifying how a specific tool works.
